The Naval Dockyard Apprentice Selection Process for 2024:
Shortlisting: A 70:30 ratio of the students’ SSC/Matriculation and ITI scores will be used to determine who is shortlisted for the written exam. Call letters will be distributed to the shortlisted candidates at a ratio of 1:5 about open positions in each trade and category, keeping the reserved quota by current regulations. A merit list will be created.
Exam in Writing: The entrance exam will be written in English and comprise 50 multiple-choice questions (20 in mathematics, 20 in general science, and 10 in general knowledge). It will be administered using an Open-Book Response system. An hour will be allotted for the exam, with each question worth one and a half (1½) marks. Negative points are not awarded for incorrect responses.
Interview: A 1:2 ratio of candidates to available positions in each trade and category will determine the sequence in which candidates are summoned for an interview based on their performance in the written exam. There is an oral exam and document verification during the interview.
