Joe Pickett Season 3 Release Date: The Paramount+ C.J. Box adaptation would have proceeded with Joe Pickett season 3, but alas, the cult neo-western’s future doesn’t seem promising. Joe Pickett started as a Spectrum (the cable company) streaming exclusive before being transferred to Paramount+. Joe Pickett’s second season at Paramount+ is currently underway, and the popular novel adaption has received accolades for its realistic portrayal of the contemporary Western.
The neo-western novels written by author C.J. Box have been quite successful; two of his series have been adapted for television, including Joe Pickett. The ABC series Big Sky is an adaptation of one of Box’s past programs. Since game warden Joe Pickett (Michael Dornan) is tasked with solving a variety of mysteries in the Wyoming wilderness, there are two dozen novels in the Joe Pickett series, which means there are plenty of mysteries and characters to bring to the screen. Any of these mysteries could have been explored for Joe Picket season 3.

Joe Pickett Season 3 Expected Plot
Official word on a Joe Pickett Season 3 has not yet surfaced, but considering the overwhelmingly positive reception the neo-western has had since its 2021 premiere, there’s always a chance it will return in some form later on. If Season 3 is picked up, there are a lot of possible paths for the show.
C.J. Box’s first book in the Joe Pickett series (Open Season) is the basis for the first two seasons of the Paramount+ series. Consequently, it would make sense to concentrate on Box’s second book, Savage Run. The 2002 book focuses on Joe’s inquiry into the death of an environmentalist in the Yellowstone area.
The abundance of stories that may be adapted around Joe Pickett is advantageous for the creative team behind the character. The Joe Pickett series of novels, of which Box has published 14 volumes, seems ready for a streaming adaptation. Of course, there are unresolved storylines from Season 2 that might be addressed in a future Season 3.
The most intriguing plot point that remains to be resolved is the enigmatic Mark V assassination gang. Although several members of the covert organization came to light over Seasons 1 and 2, viewers were never shown the identity of the group’s leader—they were only aware of Nemecek.
Should Joe Pickett be renewed for a third season, it’s nearly a given that the commander of Mark V will be completely revealed, contributing significantly to the impending dramatic developments.

Joe Pickett Season 2 Recap
After spilling blood all over this year’s winner, Klamath Moore storms into a Hunting Award ceremony, where we first encounter him. As an activist for hunting, he causes disruptions and shares them with his millions of social media followers. The team is being briefed by the governor on how they must find Frank’s killer before Klamath and his gang get into the area.
The Governor is so pissed off with Deputy McLanahan that he kicks him out. When Sheriff Barnum defends him, the Governor also removes him.
Joe starts talking to Blair, his wife, and Frank’s nephew Chris, who accompanied him on the hunting trip, in an attempt to find out what happened to him. Other than saying that they regret splitting up on their hunting trip, Chris doesn’t add any new information to the probe.
After receiving information about Frank’s death, Klamath has ordered his group to begin setting up the necessary conditions so they can enter Saddlestring and cause a disturbance.
Charlie, the father of Marissa Left Hand, has been looking for his daughter since she vanished four weeks ago. Marybeth is interested in what transpired. She learns that the tribe won’t take any action because it didn’t occur on their territory, and the sheriff wouldn’t offer any assistance because it wasn’t within their purview. It takes her to the sheriff’s office, where she inquires about their actions about the unaccounted-for case. Deputy McLanahan offers her no assistance at all.
Marybeth becomes further certain that there is foul play when she looks into Marissa’s abandoned care. She tells Charlie she wants to assist him in solving the case of his missing daughter as she makes her way to his residence. She brings Charlie to Cricket to see if she can assist them with the issue, but Charlie becomes unhappy when she is unable to offer the necessary assistance.
Nate reports that someone is hunting without a permit and asks them to contact the game warden. Nate informs Joe that he is being pursued by a gang of individuals when he arrives. Nate then says, “They could use Joe to help them work him out.”
