Admission Procedure

  1. Admission Procedure:-

    Admission shall be made strictly on the basis of merit upon the marks obtained in qualifying examination following the reservation policy of Assam Government i.e.7% for SC,10% for ST (Plains),5% ST (Hills) and 15% for Other Backward Classes.

  2. Age on Admission :- No Bar.
  3. Eligibility for Admission:-

    1. Three Year Law Degree Course (LL.B):-

      An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a recognized University.

    2. Five Year Integrated Degree Course(B.A.,LL.B):-

      An applicant who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the AHSEC/CBSE or any equivalent examination may apply for and be admitted into the program to obtain the integrated degree In Law with a degree in any other subject(Presently Arts) as first degree.

  4. Prohibition to register for two regular courses of Study:-

    No Student shall be allowed to simultaneously register for a Law Degree program with any other Graduate course or Post graduate or Certificate Course.

  5. Minimum Marks in Qualifying Examination:-

    As per stipulation of the Bar-Council of India the minimum percentage of marks not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC,ST and OBC applicants to be obtained in the qualifying examination such as 10+2 Examination in case of admission into the integrated Five year Law Course or in Degree Course in any discipline for admission into the three year LL.B. course.

  6. Annual fees Structure:-

    Eligible students must pay for two semester(One year) at one time for admission into any one of the courses as under-

    1. Three Year LL.B. Course ——- 22,000/-
    2. Five year B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) Course ——- 20,000/-
  7. Submission of Admission Forms:-

    The filled up admission forms must be submitted along with attested copies of mark-sheets and Certificates as follows-

    1. Attested copy of Admit Card/Certificate of the H.S.L.C. examination.
    2. Attested copies of Mark-sheets of the H.S. Examination.
    3. Attested Copies of Mark-sheets of the Degree Examination (for 3 year LL.B. course)
    4. Attested copy of Registration Card.
    5. Attested copies of SC/ST/OBC, etc. certificate.
    6. Two copies of recent passport size photograph.

    Original testimonials are to be produced at the time of admission for verification. Original copy of Migration Certificate of the candidate other than the Gauhati University and Higher Secondary Education Council will have to be submitted within 15 days from the date of Admission.
